Job Description

Waco Ophthalmology is seeking a motivated and dynamic Medical Office Manager to oversee daily operations and support the continued success of the practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong leadership skills, medical office experience, and billing knowledge, along with a commitment to creating a positive and efficient work environment that supports exceptional patient care. The Medical Office Manager will be closely involved in day-to-day operations, with a strong emphasis on leading staff, directing customer service activities, and promoting a professional and positive business image.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support office staff, including HR-related responsibilities Review and approve payroll and PTO requests Coordinate with MCG regarding accounting, IT, and social media functions Build and maintain relationships with referral sources (optometrists) Oversee facility maintenance and vendor coordination Perform general office management duties, including tasks currently handled by leadership Assist with front desk operations, including answering phones, patient check-in, and check-out (especially during the initial transition)
Qualifications:
Medical office experience required; billing knowledge preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Professional and approachable presence as the face of the practice Ability to manage employee relations and handle difficult conversations professionally Reliable, dependable, and detail-oriented Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment Ability to consistently report to work by 7:30
