Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Records Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
1. Fulfill medical records request. 2. Sort and deliver any incoming mail. 3. Answering phones. 4. Stay up to date and comply with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and the ACA (Affordable Care Act) HIPAA and the ACA. 5. Knowledgeable in office procedures and computer software(s) (i.e., word, excel, email, etc.). 6. Professional, clear, and concise communication. 7. Adhere to all ALCC (Alabama Cancer Care) policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance standards. 8. Conduct duties in a professional and timely manner. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Empathetic and patient demeanor.
  • Clear understanding of insurance-related terminology and processes.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, Practice Management systems (PM), and IT skills for efficient workflow.
  • Familiarity with relevant compliance standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Adaptability to evolving processes and procedures.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$14.00 - $16.50 per hour
