Job Description

Join our Vida Medical Centers' Medical Records team, now with 1 position available at the corporate location. Company with great benefits including paid time-off, holidays and bonus. Minimum of 1 year experience in a Medical Office is required for this position. As a Medical Records Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing medical records for patients. You will ensure that all records are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible by healthcare professionals. You will work closely with medical staff and administrative departments, as well as other healthcare facilities to ensure the smooth operation of the incoming and outgoing medical records. The Medical Records Clerk understands that this is a very dynamic department, and each employee may have different responsibilities within the department, however general department responsibilities apply for all positions within the department. Position may change from time to time. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date medical records for patients, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Works closely with healthcare staff to ensure maintenance and accountability of patients' health records to support continuity of care. Receive, request, upload, attach and upload all health-related documents including medical visit notes, test results, labs, state forms, patient letters, insurance referrals, insurance letters, pain assessment, hospital records, previous medical history and all other documents related to patient's health into the electronic medical records system. Process requests for release of medical information in a timely manner and in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Always verify the identity and authorization of individuals requesting medical records. Requested information should be e-faxed or emailed whenever possible to avoid overuse of paper. Assist patients and healthcare providers with inquiries related to medical records. Ensure that medical records are organized and easily accessible. Provide extraordinary customer service to all members and internal and external staff, including specialist offices. Regularly monitor and answer phone calls, faxes, EMR messages, and emails in a timely manner. Maintain and provide ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation or reports on medical records to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety. Ensure strict confidentiality of all health records and member information, adhering to relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA guidelines.
