Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate patient records, processing medical record requests, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and supporting providers and staff with documentation needs. Responsibilities Manage and maintain patient medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems. Process incoming and outgoing medical record requests via email and mail. Scan, upload, and organize patient documents accurately and timely. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations. Review records for completeness and follow up on missing documentation. Assist providers and staff with record retrieval and documentation needs. Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, attorneys, and insurance companies regarding records requests. Track and document all records releases and requests. Perform other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous medical records, healthcare administration, or office experience preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with computers, electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
