Full-Time Overview:

The Operator/Medical Records position is responsible for managing call transfers, screening calls, and ensuring accurate routing to appropriate departments. This role also involves checking and distributing patient portal messages, handling medical record emails, managing deceased patient protocols, processing lab results, and ensuring timely filing and distribution of medical records. Additionally, the Operator is responsible for managing faxed documents and processing patient and physician medical records requests.

Responsibilities:

Proficient in operator and medical records procedures Assist in daily Medical Records department operations Ensure all departmental duties are completed efficiently Maintain professional communication with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff Promote effective communication between clinical, business office, and physician practices Support cost containment and efficient use of resources Adhere to safety policies and OSHA requirements for clerical staff Seek continuous learning and embrace new responsibilities Open to feedback and improvement Ensure patient confidentiality and respect for privacy Apply clerical principles to patient-care activities Foster positive working relationships among the healthcare team
