Position Responsibilities:
We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Medical Records professional to provide excellent patient care and support. In this role, you will scan all medical documents and insert the scanned documents into the appropriate patient medical records. Working all faxes and ensuring that all incoming faxes are distributed to the appropriate person or department. Preparing conference books for Physician legal appointments. Processing records requests and FMLA/Disability forms. Assisting Work Comp insurance Specialists as needed. Answering Medical Records-related phone calls. Filling in for the Switchboard Operator as needed. ORA holds all our staff members accountable for providing high-level care, maintaining patient confidentiality, and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations. As a Medical Records representative, your attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to confidentiality directly contribute to the efficiency of the healthcare team and the quality of patient services.
Requirements:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Previous medical records experience in a medical office is preferred. A successful candidate will have familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and medical terminology. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills as well as the ability to work well within a team and collaborate with medical professionals, are requirements of this role.
