Release of Information (ROI) Specialist Southwoods Health |
Boardman, OH Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM About the
Role:
Southwoods Health is seeking a detail-oriented ROI Specialist to manage the release of medical records across all our facilities. You will ensure the integrity and security of patient information while assisting with appeals, denials, and medical necessity reviews.
What You'll Do:
Request Management:
Process and log medical record requests into the ROI database in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Fulfill requests by uploading records to portals and sending via secure email.
Record Integrity:
Collect, scan, and index physical and electronic records into the EMR system to ensure accurate patient files.
Customer Service:
Act as the primary point of contact for requesters regarding the status and requirements of their information requests.
Compliance:
Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and security, ensuring all processes meet OSHA, ODH, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
Department Support:
Participate in performance improvement activities and provide clerical support as needed.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
3+ years of Health Information Management (HIM) experience preferred.
Knowledge:
A comprehensive understanding of HIPAA requirements is essential.
Skills:
Exceptional attention to detail, strong prioritization skills, and a professional demeanor.
Education:
