Soni is partnered with a client seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Records Specialist to support medical records operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is responsible for processing medical record requests, auditing records, safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI), and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and organizationalpolicies. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, experience handling confidential healthcare documentation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Process and fulfill medical record requests accurately and within established timelines Coordinate the release of PHI to authorized parties including patients, guardians, insurance providers, legal entities, and government agencies Respond to medical record requests via email in a timely and professional manner Support internal audits and respond to collector inquiries as needed Process subpoenas and court orders under the direction of leadership Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and company policies Accurately log and track all record requests in designated systems and spreadsheets Identify and communicate clinical deficiencies within medical records to appropriate departments Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives Assist with training new team members within Medical Records operations Attend weekly team meetings and complete additional duties as assigned

Compensation:
