Release of Information Specialist ( HIMS Specialist II) Location Memphis, TN Category Revenue Cycle Department Revenue Cycle Shift Weekday Day Position Type Full Time Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Req # JR7094 Job Description The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist is responsible for ensuring that requests for confidential patient medical records from attorneys, insurance carriers, physicians, government agencies, and other authorized parties are processed securely, accurately, and within established turnaround times. The ROI Specialist also ensures timely and accurate reporting of vital statistics in accordance with regulatory guidelines, maintains responsibility for patient records stored on microfilm, and performs additional related duties as required to support departmental goals and operational

Job Responsibilities:
Execute assigned tasks related to HIMS (e.g., retrieving, maintaining medical records, correcting filing errors), with limited guidance; address standard requests and queries for timely resolution. Coordinate with internal teams to collect information and create relevant documentation & standard reports (e.g. deficiencies status, discharge records). Prioritize tasks among various work queues based on HIM turnaround times and established priorities. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or

Minimum Requirement:
2+ years of experience required (in health information management/practices, preferred). Some experience/ working knowledge in analyzing medical information in patient medical records, preferred. Prior experience in Release of Information preferred. Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
