Health Info Mgmt Rep Franciscan Medical Group - 3.6 Tacoma, WA Job Details Full-time $20.91 - $32.41 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Medical coding experience in physician offices Full Job Description Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Health Info Mgmt Rep , you will ensure precise communication with insurance companies so that services are documented correctly and payments are processed efficiently. Every day you will accurately translate patients' medical records into standardized codes for diagnoses and treatments. Using your expertise and training, you will ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards. To be successful in this role, you must combine accuracy and attention to detail with a strong knowledge of coding standards and healthcare regulations. Clear communication with providers and staff, along with efficient management of records, ensures claims are processed correctly and on time. Manages the preparation, scanning, indexing, filing, retrieval, and maintenance of electronic and paper medical records, ensuring accurate patient identification, documentation, and compliance with organizational standards. Processes, validates, and fulfills requests for medical records from patients, providers, insurance companies, billing offices, and other authorized third parties while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, federal and state regulations, and release of information policies. Reviews and verifies authorizations for release of information, logs and tracks requests within the EMR, maintains request documentation, and communicates request status and turnaround times to patients and customers. Monitors and resolves EMR work queues by addressing document imaging issues, chart retrieval, release of information requests, error corrections, record transfers, and requests for records from outside facilities. Performs quality assurance activities by auditing scanned and indexed documents, correcting scanning and indexing errors, ensuring documentation accuracy, and maintaining compliance with established scanning procedures and quality standards. Prepares incoming correspondence and clinic records, copies and transfers medical information, maintains organized information centers and physical charts, and generates routine reports to monitor compliance with quality metrics and required processing timelines.
