Job Description

Position Summary The Medical Section Lead is the operational leader of the Medical Department within a veteran-focused disability claims organization, overseeing daily operations, provider scheduling, telehealth support, medical records review, and the quality of Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs), Nexus Letters, and medical opinions. This role partners closely with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Client Relations Team, and medical providers to ensure efficient workflows, exceptional client service, and timely, high- quality claim support documentation. In-person presence in the El Dorado, Arkansas area is strongly preferred. Telehealth/remote candidates may be considered if based in Arkansas and able to support operational and scheduling requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Medical Operations & Provider Coordination
  • Lead day-to-day Medical Department operations, maintaining efficient workflows and quality assurance standards for medical documentation.
  • Monitor case progression, identify operational inefficiencies, and drive process improvements.
  • Manage provider schedules, availability, and workload to maximize efficiency and client access.
  • Partner with the Client Relations Team on telehealth scheduling and resolve conflicts to ensure timely client placement with appropriate providers. Medical Records Review & DBQ/Nexus Letter Support
  • Review client medical records, service treatment records, VA records, and supporting documentation to identify relevant diagnoses, treatment history, and evidence for provider review.
  • Prepare organized case summaries and records packages to facilitate efficient provider evaluations.
  • Support providers with the preparation, review, and quality assurance of DBQs, Nexus Letters, and Independent Medical Opinions, coordinating corrections and follow-up as needed. Provider Recruitment & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with the Chief Medical Officer to recruit, credential, onboard, and retain qualified healthcare providers, and support their training and development.
  • Serve as a liaison between providers and company leadership.
  • Collaborate with Client Relations, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Executive Leadership to support strategic initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and client outcomes. Qualifications Required
  • Experience in healthcare administration, medical operations, clinical coordination, nursing, military medicine, or a related field, with strong medical documentation and records review skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred
  • Experience with VA disability claims, DBQs, Nexus Letters, and Independent Medical Opinions.
  • Prior military service or familiarity with military and veteran healthcare systems; experience supporting telehealth operations or coordinating healthcare providers.
  • Clinical background such as RN, LPN, Paramedic, Medical Assistant, or related healthcare professional.

The Medical Section Lead plays a critical role in supporting veterans through the disability claims process by ensuring efficient medical operations, exceptional provider support, and the delivery of accurate, high-quality medical documentation.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
