This role is critical for maintaining compliance, optimizing reimbursement, and serving as a technical expert for complex coding and billing issues across our healthcare ministry. Every day you will supervise, coach, and train a dedicated team of coders and data entry specialists, fostering a positive work environment and addressing performance issues when needed. You'll conduct quality reviews, provide essential education and training on coding processes, policies, and systems, and resolve complex coding problems. Acting as a key liaison, you will coordinate with physicians, practice managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues related to coding, billing, and documentation, contributing directly to coding compliance and charge capture optimization. To be successful in this medical coding leadership role, you will need a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of experience in the discipline, or three years if without a prior healthcare billing background. Essential certifications such as Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) are required. Your ability to effectively manage staff, troubleshoot difficult coding challenges, and ensure adherence to all regulatory guidelines will be key to driving "coding excellence" and contributing to the financial health and operational integrity of our organization.
