Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated Home Health Agency as a Director of Nursing (DON), a vital leadership role committed to delivering exceptional patient care in diverse settings including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospice care, and home health environments. As a DON, you will oversee clinical operations, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a compassionate, patient-centered culture. Your expertise will drive quality improvement initiatives, manage nursing staff, and uphold the highest standards of medical care. Duties Provide strong leadership and supervision to nursing staff across multiple care settings, ensuring adherence to care plans and regulatory standards. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of resident care plans, ensuring they meet individual needs and comply with Medicare and HIPAA regulations. Manage clinical documentation review processes, including medical records, QAPI , and shift reports to maintain accuracy and completeness. Supervise the use of different care platforms for EMR systems, ie Kinnser/Wellsky for efficient documentation management. Ensure compliance with HIPAA privacy standards while safeguarding sensitive medical information. Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing documentation, conducting audits, and implementing improvements in home health and hospice care services. Oversee staff scheduling and shift management to maintain optimal coverage while supporting staff development through supervising experience and nursing administration best practices. Requirements Proven experience in home health agencies with a strong background in hospice care or acute care environments. Demonstrated supervising experience in nurse management or nursing administration roles. Extensive knowledge of medical and healthcare regulations including Medicare requirements. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation review and medical records management. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams effectively. Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to medical records and patient privacy. Ability to manage shift schedules efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care standards. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, residents' families, and regulatory bodies.
