What You'll Do Position Summary The HIM Specialist will oversee the management and organization of patient health information within the Suvida healthcare center or network. This role is key in ensuring accurate, secure, and efficient handling of medical records. The HIM Specialist will manage patient data by ensuring accurate collection, secure storage, and compliance with regulations. They will utilize technology to improve data processes, train staff on best practices, and oversee vendor relationships. Additionally, they will focus on maintaining data security, updating policies, and solving problems in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Retrieval of outside records (e.g. previous PCP, specialist, imaging, etc) not assigned to vendor. Leverage all methods to retrieve records (e.g. fax, call, utilize Outside Care, etc). Respond to Provider messages in Elation regarding questions and records requests. Works with Center staff to improve the process of getting ROIs completed with patients so we can improve collection of outside records. Ensures that patient data, such as medical histories, diagnoses, and test results, is accurate secure and accessible. Complies with medical, legal, and ethical standards. Enters information into electronic medical records (eMR) and monitors the information for accuracy. Facilitates correction of identified errors in the medical records. Communicate upcoming changes that may impact operations, such as new providers, center openings, or process adjustments. Other duties as assigned.
