The successful candidate will assist in the planning, development, implementation, and oversight of the goals, objectives, and work of the EHR unit. This recruitment will establish an employment list to fill immediate and future vacancies throughout HHSA's Public Health and Behavioral Health Branches. The EHR Specialist will work directly with IT, clinic staff, and vendors in the development, design, and maintenance of the EHR system. The incumbent will assist with quality assurance audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data, identify end-user errors, provide feedback and make recommendations for application modifications to improve clinic staff workflow efficiency and productivity. The EHR Specialist will contribute to the effort to support ongoing improvements to clinic operations by utilizing technology and training to its full potential. In addition, the ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between internal customers and other professionals in an efficient and customer service-driven manner. Typical Duties Key Responsibilities Work directly with the Supervising Electronic Health Records Specialist, Electronic Health Records Manager, and/or electronic health records vendors in the development, set up, and design of the system. Assist with quality assurance audits of electronic health records applications to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data, identify end-user errors, and provide feedback. Assist in the development of policies and procedures associated with the use of electronic health records software. Make recommendations for application modifications to improve clinic workflow efficiency and productivity of health and behavioral health staff. Lead electronic health records implementation project plans and teams. Serve as liaison between our internal customers and other professionals in an effective and customer service-driven manner. Minimum Qualifications Required Qualifications Candidates must meet the qualifications listed below by the application deadline . Completion of two (2) years of college or a university in health, behavioral health, business administration, computer science, or a closely related field. Increasingly responsible experience in health, behavioral health, or electronic health records may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Desirable Knowledge of and at least 5 years of experience with electronic health records. Additional Information Conditions of Employment Candidates selected will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. Additionally, a background investigation may also be conducted, which may include a re-investigation every 10 years for some positions. An Employment Eligibility Verification using E-Verify may be required on the first day of employment for some positions. Some job classes may also require a physical exam. If in a driving position candidates must be able to obtain and retain a valid California driver's license.
