About the Role In this role, you will manage and safeguard medical records while ensuring timely and compliant release of information. Your attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality will help create a seamless experience for both patients and care teams. You'll also serve as a key point of contact for individuals requesting information, providing responsive, compassionate service—often in time-sensitive situations.
What You Will Do:
  • Maintain patient medical records in both electronic and paper formats
  • Process release of information (ROI) requests accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations
  • Scan, upload, and organize documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Verify authorization and validity of information requests
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support record accuracy and accessibility
  • Support audit readiness and compliance with organizational standards What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of medical records or ROI experience in a healthcare setting (or enrollment in a HIM program)
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
