A Brief Overview:
Reporting to the assigned Clinical Supervisor, performs prescription refills and medication prior authorizations following designated protocols, under the direction of the Physician (MD) and Registered Nursing (RN).
What you will do:
Refills routine prescription requests following designated prescription refill protocols from Inbasket messages in appropriate clinical pools. Practicing good phone etiquette and customer relations, collects and documents patient data and history as needed to safely refill medications Reviews and updates patient records with current information relevant to medication refills. Confers with physicians on any incomplete refill requests and seeks clarification prior to completing refill requests. Obtain appropriate authorization from a patient's insurance for medications when needed and completes in a timely fashion Assists patients with appointment scheduling when required for medication refills per protocol. Remains alert to potential quality problems and actively participates in process improvement opportunities. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
