Job Description

The Health Information Management (HIM) Technician performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to scanning and analysis of medical records; sort and account incoming unassembled records for processing; place loose reports; retrieve, track and deliver records to appropriate locations; file and purge records. Also, the HIM Technician will answer phone and receive visitors, patients, and/or employees in a professional manner and aid in any questions or inquiries. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) preferred.
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION
None
EXPERIENCE
Six to twelve months medical records experience preferred but not required.
