Maintains the integrity of the admission, discharge, and demographic data in the hospitals information system. Utilizes the hospital's information system to obtain medical record numbers, discharge dates and demographic information. Demonstrates good working relationships with the admitting associates regarding assignments of medical record numbers and admission and discharge dates. Provides feedback to admitting associates if error occurs. Communicates with Supervisor in the event Case Management requests a change to the Patient Types of Medical Records. Scan a minimum of 7 SDS, Inpatient Medical Records per hour and a minimum 20 Emergency Department records per hour. On days when performing Medical Prepping, must record 8 SDS per hour, 6 IP per hour. On the days indexing, index a minimum 3 IP/SDS per hour, minimum 12 ED/MRE accounts per hour. Assist with release information.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent Experience in Health Information System/Medical Records preferred.
