Job Description
Provides diversified administrative, clerical, and technical assistance within the correctional healthcare facility through electronic information systems management, delegated medical tasking, medical records processing, or materials inventory/procurement activities. These functions are performed under the direction of the Registered Nurse Administrator and are based upon the appropriate standards, policies/procedures and security considerations of the SFC Adult Detention Center. Operates personal computers to enter and assimilate data, generate reports, draft routine correspondence, and develop special administrative analyses upon request. Establishes and maintains security and access control for records. Assists in retrieving and maintaining a tracking system for all medical record charts located in the facility. Reviews medical records for completeness and to abstract and code clinical data, such as diseases, procedures and therapies, using standard classification systems. Assists with compliance review. Completes forms and processes requests for medical information. Practices principles of patient and employee confidentiality. Performs clerical functions incidental to record maintenance activities. Remains current on all in-service/education/credentials/certification requirements for position, as appropriate.
