Job Description

One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a Public Health Office Assistant. Public Health Office Assistant On Site 10825 Old Hwy 64 Bolivar, Tennessee 38008 10 Months Schedule Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST 8 Hours/Day Responsibilities This position will cover Hardeman County Primary Duties Under general supervision, performs county health department office work, in a medical office/clinic setting, of average difficulty; and performs administrative-related work as required. Endorse all health department services for which each patient may be eligible. Help achieve goals by maintaining a supportive team environment. Properly register patients upon their arrival at the health department in a timely manner to ensure clinic flow by obtaining and verifying insurance information, checking immunization status, updating contact information in applicable systems, incorporating the process to eliminate duplicates, and successfully toggling between multiple systems to verify correct information. Refer to guidelines, manuals, and CHS policies/SOP to ensure that accurate processes are followed. Provide Vital Records services according to policy, procedure, and directives. Review birth and death certificate requests within a timely manner and appropriately print, document, and receipt each certificate issued. Maintain 100% security of the cash box by adhering to the segregation of duties procedures and notify leadership when problems arise. Accurately scan and index all required documents into the electronic system within 48 hours. Appropriately schedule appointments according to CHS Booking Guidelines. Required Qualifications Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to two years of full-time customer service delivery and/or clerical/office work. Qualifying full-time customer service delivery and/or clerical/office support work may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis (e.g., experience equivalent to one year of full-time work in one or a combination of the above listed fields may substitute for one year of the required education). Substitution of Education for
Experience:
Course work credit received from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years (e.g., 45 quarter hours may substitute for one year of the required experience)
