Health Information Technician Employment Status:
Full-time 40 hrs./week
Location:
Milwaukee Scope:
The Health Information Technician is primarily responsible for scanning documents into Electronic Health Records, maintaining and delivering medical records as well as release of medical records per HIPAA and company guidelines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained. Retrieve patient medical records for physicians, technicians, or other medical personnel. Maintain existing charts in good repair Distribute mail to second floor staff Thins non-active charts from the record room for chart purging Pull and deliver medical records that are needed for add on appointments or other prompt need for chart Retrieves charts from storage as needed Assists in other clinic roles as directed Perform related duties as assigned Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Previous medical experience a plus. Medical Records experience preferred. Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with clinic physicians, clinic patients and their families.
