In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and a welcoming environment for all patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while utilizing your expertise in medical office management and health information systems.
WORK SCHEDULED NEEDED
3 Days a week from 8am-6pm. Dailys needed may very weekly, but the schedule goes out a month in advance. If you are not able to work this shift all the way through, then please do not apply. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake procedures Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic scheduling systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance benefits, process payments, and perform collections using medical billing and coding knowledge including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks, Meditech, or Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation review and updates Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and managing appointment confirmations Maintain patient records with meticulous attention to confidentiality policies in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support clinical staff by preparing for daily needs and documentation. Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Assistant, or in a similar medical office role with clinic Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Knowledge of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare procedures, and health information management practices Ability to handle sensitive patient information with discretion following HIPAA guidelines Excellent customer service skills combined with effective phone communication, multi-tasking abilities, and willing to be a team player.
