Job Description
Position Summary The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a professional, organized, and patient‑centered experience. This role supports clinical operations by managing front‑office workflow, verifying insurance eligibility, processing documentation, and maintaining accurate patient records. Key Responsibilities Patient Reception & Communication Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous manner. Answer incoming phone calls, route calls appropriately, and provide accurate information. Schedule, confirm, and modify patient appointments while maintaining provider availability and clinic workflow. Respond to patient inquiries regarding services, paperwork, and visit requirements. Insurance Verification & Eligibility Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Document coverage details, copays, deductibles, and authorization requirements. Communicate benefit information to patients and clinical staff to ensure accurate billing and compliance. Medical Records & Documentation Management Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy. Scan and upload documents, forms, and clinical correspondence into patient charts with correct labeling and categorization. Maintain accuracy and completeness of electronic medical records (EMR) to support clinical decision‑making. Assist with clinical documentation workflows, including routing provider notes, updating patient demographics, and managing required forms. New Patient Intake & Administrative Support Process new patient paperwork, ensuring all required forms are completed, signed, and entered into the EMR. Collect and verify patient identification, insurance cards, and demographic information. Support daily office operations, including managing waiting room flow, preparing charts, and coordinating with clinical staff. Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare office experience preferred. Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced clinical environment. Proficiency with EMR systems, scanning tools, and standard office software. Knowledge of insurance terminology, medical records processes, and HIPAA requirements.
Pay:
