This vital role combines front desk responsibilities with medical billing duties, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate financial processing. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients and providers, managing appointments, patient records, and insurance claims with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in medical coding, billing procedures, and office administration will help us deliver exceptional patient care while maintaining efficient revenue cycle management. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures to ensure a positive experience. Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate provider calendars, and manage patient flow throughout the day. Collect patient payments, process insurance information, and handle billing inquiries with clarity and confidence. Prepare and submit accurate claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems to facilitate timely reimbursements. Review medical records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with coding standards; update EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems accordingly. Follow up on unpaid claims, perform medical collections when necessary, and communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve discrepancies. Maintain organized documentation of medical records, billing transactions, and correspondence to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity. Skills Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, DRG classifications, and ICD coding principles. Medicare and Medi-Cal. Proficiency in medical billing processes and familiarity with medical collection procedures. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and billing submissions. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, healthcare policies, and insurance procedures. Ability to navigate complex medical records while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, insurance representatives, and team members. Prior experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred to ensure seamless integration into our workflow.
