Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and check in/out efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Manage patient scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up communications via phone and electronic messaging with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Handle medical billing and collections, including insurance verification, claims submission, and payment processing using health insurance knowledge and CPT/ICD coding expertise Review medical documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies Maintain accurate medical records, update patient information in EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or Meditech, and organize filing of paper or digital documents Assist with medical coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), Medicare claims processing, and care plan documentation to support clinical workflows Support front desk operations by managing phone communication, appointment scheduling, filing, data entry (10 key typing), and general clerical tasks Experience Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with medical office management and administrative support functions Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks is essential for efficient record management Strong knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing, health information management, and medical coding (CPT/ICD coding) Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office suite for documentation review and report generation Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Demonstrated experience in customer service within a healthcare setting ensures compassionate patient interactions Familiarity with clinical confidentiality policies and HIPAA compliance is required to uphold patient privacy standards Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding dental care while fostering a supportive environment that values your skills.
