Dental Front Office San Fernando, CA 91340 $21.00 - $30.43 an hour - Part-time $21.00 - $30.43 an hour - Part-time Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Front Office professional to serve as the first point of contact for our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong background in medical administrative support, and proficiency with various electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role involves managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and ensuring smooth office operations. The Dental Front Office team member plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and office policies. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing outstanding customer service at all times. Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Open Dental. Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring proper documentation review. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Assist with insurance claims processing, follow-up on unpaid claims, and update patient care plans accordingly. Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records to support efficient office operations. Support the dental team by coordinating patient intake procedures and managing appointment reminders. Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and correspondence related to patient care. Skills Experience with dental office management software such as Dental Open. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing processes. Proven ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and handle complex billing scenarios involving Medicare or other insurance providers. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping. Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior clinic or dental office experience is essential; familiarity with dental terminology enhances efficiency. Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management systems like eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth. Outstanding customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and a positive attitude. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
