Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out procedures with professionalism and courtesy Schedule appointments accurately using medical scheduling software Verify insurance coverage, renew authorizations, and handle collection of copayments Maintain and update patient records within electronic health record (EHR) systems Review documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper coding practices including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
codes Answer multi-line phone systems efficiently while providing exceptional patient service and support Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and processing of claims as needed Manage clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and maintaining organized medical records Support clinical staff with administrative duties like intake procedures Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite to support daily office management tasks Requirements Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office role experience preferred Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and handle collections Excellent phone etiquette with the ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office tasks Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times Strong computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel Previous experience working in a healthcare setting—hospital or clinic—is advantageous Join our team to deliver outstanding patient service while supporting the seamless operation of our healthcare facility!
