This flexible role offers the opportunity to be the welcoming face of our dental practice, ensuring smooth operations at the front desk while providing exceptional administrative support. You will be instrumental in managing patient interactions, scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate medical records—all while fostering a friendly, professional environment. Duties Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression for everyone entering the clinic Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicare and Medicaid, ensuring accurate billing and patient understanding Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously Collect and review patient documentation, including intake forms, medical history updates, and consent forms Perform insurance verification and pre-authorizations to facilitate smooth billing processes Maintain accurate dental records and medical files in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Assist with billing procedures by understanding CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing practices Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records Uphold HIPAA compliance by safeguarding patient information during all interactions and documentation review processes Qualifications Prior experience in a dental office or healthcare setting with clinic experience preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and care plan documentation Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms like Meditech or Epic; familiarity with Athenahealth or other EHR systems is a plus Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems and maintain professionalism under pressure Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong organizational skills with clerical experience in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure compliance in all patient interactions and recordkeeping Ability to perform front desk duties such as intake processing, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical administrative support Experience with dental office management software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is preferred; hospital experience is a bonus Embark on a rewarding career where your dedication helps create a welcoming environment for patients while supporting the seamless operation of our dental practice.
