Job Description
We are a small pediatric dental practice right in the heart of the Highlands neighborhood, and we're looking for a new Front Desk Associate! We're looking for someone friendly and team-oriented who shares our commitment to service, professionalism, and compassion. We prefer experience, BUT are wanting to hire the right sensitivity and passion for our practice and are willing to train the right person! We pride ourselves on being a fun environment where kids actually enjoy their experience and look forward to coming back. Our goal is to ensure that every child begins their young life with a positive outlook on dental care, as well as to identify those patients with previously embedded fears and help them overcome them.
Requirements:
- Previous dental office experience a plus, and bilingual with Spanish-speaking skills a huge plus!
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- A willingness to learn and adaptability
- Professionalism and integrity in all aspects of the job, including image and both verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm in high-stress environments
- Ability to shift quickly and professionally from one task to another
- Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs as required
- Excellent positive attitude and customer service skills
- A love for kids and a basic understanding of their development
- A calm disposition, with bonus points for talent at building rapport with kiddos who may be scared or anxious
- A strong sense of responsibility, good communication skills and a love of teamwork
- Ability to take direction, constructive criticism, and consistent follow-through
- Flexibility with scheduling
- Occasional availability for marketing events outside of normal business hours Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for each patient and parent who walks through the door
- Answer phones, route calls, provide information and takes messages
- Manage patient scheduling, confirmations, and check-in/check-out on multiple platforms
- Verifying insurance coverage and benefits for patients, as required, and assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities
- Discussion of account balances with patients and collect owed monies at appointments
- Maintain up-to-date patient records and ensure smooth front office operations
- Send reminders and follow-ups to help keep our patients on track with their oral health
- Be a positive, dependable team player ready to pitch in wherever needed
- Balance end-of-day collections with deposits, receipts and daily reports
- Assist with all front office daily duties Our current schedule is Monday through Friday, with arrival time at 7:15AM and days finishing around 5:30PM.
