This position reports to the Practice Manager. This person will ensure the proper reception of all patients, clients, and visitors into the facility and greet all incoming patients, visitors, and staff with a friendly, smiling face and a helping hand. This individual will work closely with the expanded team to ensure facility day-to-day operations are running appropriately. He or she should have excellent communication and multitasking skills, problem solving skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Performs front desk administrative duties including but not limited to answering incoming telephone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information, patient check in/out, coordinate and facilitate accurate patient appointments. Greets and receives patients as they arrive. Responds to questions from patients and when necessary, refers them to the appropriate person. Operates office machines as required. Prepares outgoing mail; sorts and distributes incoming mail. Enters data into the electronic medical record system. Collects co-pays and processes payments. Maintains accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred Must have experience working in a medical office or medical setting Excellent written and oral communication skills Familiarity with medical insurance Pleasant and friendly demeanor Must be comfortable using technology including a multi-line phone system, computers, fax, copiers, scanners, and printers Travel This position requires travel to satellite offices, so Front Office Staff must have a current and valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Work Environment This job works closely with the providers and operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Compensation and Classification $18.00-$23.00 per hour depending on experience. Non-exempt.
