Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires proficiency in medical office management, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and familiarity with medical terminology and coding. The Medical Receptionist will support clinic operations, ensure accurate documentation, and facilitate smooth patient flow within a fast-paced medical environment. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression at the front desk Schedule patient appointments using EMR systems Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification procedures accurately Collect payments and perform medical billing and collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette and assist patients with inquiries Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation review and filing Assist with patient intake processes, including data entry and updating health information Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans and follow-up appointments Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards to protect patient confidentiality and privacy Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies Experience Prior experience in a medical office environment, dental clinic, or hospital setting is preferred Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10
codes for billing and documentation purposes Strong understanding of medical terminology across various specialties including dental terminology if applicable Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicare-related documentation review Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist diverse patient populations Demonstrated customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and clerical support experience This position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive healthcare environment where your organizational skills and medical knowledge will contribute significantly to patient care delivery.
