Job Description

About us Pounds Transformation is a company with 3 locations and expanding. Our offices are currently located in Southington, West Hartford and Glastonbury. We are a private medical practice specializing in non-surgical weight loss and metabolic rehabilitation in a unique and sustainable manner. We are seeking an energetic, team oriented, compassionate medical receptionist to join our growing practice. The candidate needs to be capable of multi-tasking and able to work in our three locations. Responsibilities will include administrative duties such as: Greet patients and visitors warmly upon arrival and check them in for appointments Answer and triage multi-line phone calls, directing inquiries to the appropriate staff Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using the practice management system Respond to patient inquiries in person, by phone, and via email or text in a timely manner Communicate wait times, delays, or appointment changes to patients courteously Administrative & Clerical Duties Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information at each visit Collect and process co-pays, co-insurance, and outstanding balances; issue receipts Obtain and scan required patient intake forms, consent documents, and ID/insurance cards Maintain accurate and organized patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments as directed Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and interoffice communications Insurance & Billing Support Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments Collect accurate information required for claims submission Communicate billing questions or discrepancies to the billing department Office Operations Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area Monitor and restock front desk supplies; notify management of inventory needs Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times Support clinical and administrative staff with additional tasks as needed Check patients out on the point of sale system for supplements and other items. This is a full-time position (40 hours), Monday - Thursday, no weekends. Must be available from 8am - 6pm to work.
Qualifications:
basic computer skills, Excellent communication skills, experience with EMR (Prefer Athena). In addition to the many benefits we offer, our employees also are able to have free access to our services.
