High School Diploma or GED Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to support a busy outpatient healthcare practice. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience through efficient scheduling, registration, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-4 years of medical office experience , strong knowledge of Epic EMR , and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Patient Registration & Front Desk Support Greet and check in patients for scheduled appointments. Verify patient identification and demographic information. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments. Accurately update patient records in electronic medical record systems. Verify insurance information and obtain required documentation. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor. Clinical & Administrative Support Support patient flow and assist with daily clinic operations. Measure and document vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and blood glucose. Collect and process specimens in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, urine collections, and related testing as assigned. Provide patients with instructions related to testing and specimen collection. Perform ECGs when required and appropriately trained. Maintain medical and office supply inventory. Operate clinical and office equipment safely and effectively. Complete additional administrative and operational duties as needed. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 3-4 years of medical office experience . Experience using Epic EMR . Strong customer service and patient communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced setting. Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a primary care or outpatient healthcare setting. Knowledge of patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification processes. Clinical support experience, including vital signs collection and specimen handling. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hamden, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
