Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service while coordinating front office operations of our practice. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology and excellent administrative skills to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage their check-in and check-out processes. Answer incoming calls, triage patient inquiries, and schedule appointments to keep the daily calendar running smoothly. Monitor daily patient flow and wait times, keeping clinical staff informed of delays to maintain an efficient schedule. Maintain accurate patient records, including care plans and patient communications. Reach out to existing patients for routine hygiene care, recall visits, and unscheduled treatment follow-ups. Address patient inquiries regarding treatments, insurance, and billing. Process payments and update patient account records. Utilize dental software (such as Oryx) for scheduling and record management. Assist with filing and maintaining patient documents in compliance with privacy regulations. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
Skills and Qualifications Core Qualifications:
Proficiency in dental terminology and familiarity with care plans. Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep daily operations running smoothly during peak hours, all while giving every patient warm, unhurried attention. Excellent patient communication skills , with a focus on creating a welcoming atmosphere and addressing inquiries with empathy. Working knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient privacy compliance.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with dental insurance verification, copays, and billing is a plus. Previous experience as a dental and/or medical receptionist is highly desirable. Familiarity with Oryx or similar dental practice software is advantageous.
