Job Description

Ark Healthcare and Rehabilitation at St. Camillus , a premier leader in Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation care in Stamford, CT is seeking a qualified Part Time, Nursing Unit Secretary to join our team for 20 hours per week. As the Nursing Unit Secretary, you will play an integral part of the coordination of essential medical services for our residents and patients as well as work in conjunction with members of nursing administration and the nursing staff on the unit. The responsibilities of the Nursing Unit Secretary include but are not limited to the following: Schedule Appointments, Procedures, and Transportation for patients Greet Patients Fax Medical Records to Medical Providers Review patient insurance information to determine insurance coverage for procedures and transportation their insurance will cover and the incurred costs. Update and Organize patients files and charts Provide reminders to patients and their responsible parties of upcoming appointments Manage and maintain the nursing station equipment and inventory
Job Skills:
Able to positively interact with nursing staff, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public Able to prioritize work responsibilities and perform tasks with minimal supervision.

Demonstrate reliability, commitment and dedication to staff and customers. Understand importance of center readiness to meet customer/nursing needs. Demonstrate initiative to ensuring business objectives are met. Excellent organizational skills from detailed recordkeeping to management of multiple storage areas. Responsive to last minute request to meet unexpected customer need Demonstrate willingness to learn new tasks and ability to adapt to situations quickly Previous Experience in Long Term Care, Hospital, or Healthcare preferred, but not required.
