POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE
We are looking for a Front Office Medical Secretary, who will be responsible for the reception and front office areas at our office located on Tompkins Street in Waterbury. This fast-paced position requires the ability to provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high degree of accuracy for assigned tasks. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide exemplary customer service to our patients, visitors, vendors, volunteers, referral partners and staff on the telephone and in-person visits. Greet and direct visitors and notify appropriate staff of visitors. Answer multi-line phone system; assist callers/visitors with basic general questions for the organization and services, route calls/take messages for appropriate individuals/departments. Assist the Center for Better Hearing program with the following: Greet and check in/out audiology patients, obtain insurance information, perform eligibility verifications Translation -Spanish Assist with drop off and pick up of hearing aid repairs, batteries and supplies Assist with patient scheduling as needed Assist with patient appointment confirmations Receive payments, daily reconciliation of charges and payments Mail and/or fax patient reports, process medical records requests and other correspondence as needed Prepare, file and maintain patient charts Other related duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Able to multi-task and manage a high volume of calls with simultaneous front desk traffic. Bilingual in Spanish required. Experience in medical translation preferred. Experience working Medical EMR/EHR system(s) Knowledge of medical insurance verification. Portray an efficient and professional image to visitors.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in business or healthcare related field strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years proven customer service excellence in a medical office or comparable environment required.
