Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical office operations. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient service, managing appointment scheduling, and supporting clinical staff with administrative tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, medical billing, insurance verification, and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience from check-in to check-out. Schedule appointments accurately using various EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system. Verify insurance coverage to facilitate smooth billing processes. Manage patient records by accurately updating medical information, reviewing documentation, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Handle multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear communication and efficient appointment management. Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while adhering to office policies for patient privacy and safety protocols. Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette, typing skills (including 10 key), and proficiency in health information management to optimize office workflow. Experience Prior experience working in a medical or dental office environment is required, with demonstrated familiarity with clinic operations and patient service procedures. Proven proficiency in EMR/EHR system Strong background in medical administrative support including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and documentation review. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security is mandatory. Demonstrated organizational skills combined with clerical experience such as filing, multi-line phone handling, and health information management will contribute to success in this role.
