In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a wide range of administrative and clinical support tasks. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and efficient patient flow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a healthcare team dedicated to delivering high-quality surgical care with compassion and professionalism. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems. Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and promptly. Maintain and update patient records meticulously, including reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing excellent patient service while directing calls efficiently. Support the clinical team by managing appointment schedules, coordinating follow-up visits, and maintaining clinic supplies. Utilize computer skills to navigate EMR/EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems. Experience Previous clinic or medical office experience is essential; familiarity with surgical practices is highly preferred. Proven experience in medical administrative support including front desk responsibilities, scheduling, billing, and coding procedures. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth or similar platforms. Demonstrated understanding of health insurance processes including Medicare billing and insurance verification procedures. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Experience working within HIPAA guidelines and maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information is required. Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation review and administrative tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding standards (ICD-9/10), and medical billing practices enhances your effectiveness in this role.
