Job Description

Position Overview We are a patient-focused private dental practice in Largo, FL seeking a highly organized and personable Dental Front Office Administrator to join our team. This role is essential in creating a smooth, welcoming patient experience while ensuring efficient daily operations of the front office. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working within Open Dental practice management software. Key Responsibilities Patient Experience & Communication Greet and check in/out patients with a professional and friendly demeanor Answer multi-line phone system, respond to patient inquiries, and manage appointment scheduling Present a calm, organized, and welcoming front desk presence consistent with a high-quality private practice Scheduling & Practice Flow Manage and optimize the daily schedule using Open Dental to ensure provider efficiency and minimal downtime Confirm, reschedule, and maintain accurate appointment records within Open Dental and RevenueWell Coordinate patient flow between clinical and administrative teams Insurance & Financial Coordination Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits using Open Dental tools and payer portals Accurately enter and update insurance information, treatment plans, and estimates in Open Dental Present financial arrangements and treatment estimates clearly and confidently to patients Process patient payments and manage daily collections Billing & Administrative Duties Submit and track insurance claims, including follow-up on outstanding claims on DentalXChange Manage accounts receivable and patient balances Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in Open Dental Assist with recall systems, hygiene re-care, and patient follow-up communications Office Support Maintain organized, professional front desk and reception area Support clinical team with efficient communication to ensure smooth patient transitions Uphold HIPAA compliance and office confidentiality standards Assist with general administrative tasks as needed Qualifications Prior experience in a dental front office preferred Strong working knowledge of Open Dental software (or ability to learn quickly) Experience with dental insurance verification, claims, and treatment coordination Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask in a fast-paced private practice environment Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude Preferred Traits Confident discussing treatment plans and financial options with patients Proactive problem-solver who takes ownership of front office flow Positive, calm presence even in busy clinical environments Strong understanding of patient-centered care in a private practice setting
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
