In this vital role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for our young patients and their families, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your energetic approach and excellent organizational skills will help coordinate appointments, manage medical records, and support the clinical staff in delivering exceptional pediatric care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on children's health while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment. Duties Greet patients and families warmly, providing excellent customer service with professional phone etiquette and friendly demeanor Schedule appointments efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical collection processes with accuracy Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including intake forms and documentation review Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring proper filing, data entry, and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding for accurate documentation Support clinic operations by managing multi-line phone systems, appointment reminders, and follow-up communications Requirements Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative support role within a pediatric or dental clinic setting Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth; experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and insurance verification processes Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA standards Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing accuracy Previous clinic or hospital experience involving front desk duties, medical scheduling, is preferred Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering compassionate pediatric care!
