Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Pediatric Dental Front Desk Specialist to join our vibrant dental team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for our young patients and their families, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and efficient experience from the moment they walk through our doors. Your energetic approach and exceptional organizational skills will help streamline daily operations, manage patient flow, and support the delivery of top-quality pediatric dental care. Responsibilities Greet patients and families with enthusiasm, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive first impression Verify insurance coverage through insurance verification processes, including working with systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Athenahealth Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software, managing multi-line phone systems and electronic scheduling tools Collect patient information, review medical and dental histories, and update electronic health records (EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech) accurately Handle billing procedures including medical collection efforts, insurance claims processing, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and Medicare documentation review Maintain organized dental records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for health information management Assist with intake procedures for new patients and support front desk administrative tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies Skills Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding standards (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Athenahealth; familiarity with EHR systems is essential Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software Exceptional patient service skills with friendly phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently Prior clinic or dental office experience with knowledge of insurance verification, medical billing, medical coding, and documentation review processes Bilingual abilities are highly valued to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, record keeping, and appointment scheduling Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion Join us in making a difference in children's lives by providing outstanding pediatric dental care!
