Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a professional, reliable, and friendly Full-Time Telephone Receptionist to join our busy medical practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will manage a high volume of incoming calls, handle appointment requests, and route inquiries efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a passion for patient care. •
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) •
Classification:
Full-Time, Non-Exempt Key Responsibilities •
Call Management:
Answer a multi-line phone system promptly, professionally, and with a welcoming tone. Screen and route incoming calls to the appropriate clinical or billing staff. •
Patient Scheduling:
Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments utilizing our practice management software, adhering to established scheduling protocols. •
Inquiry Resolution:
Answer general inquiries regarding office hours, location, services offered, and basic insurance policies. •
Message Processing:
Take accurate, detailed messages and route urgent patient requests or clinical inquiries to the nursing/medical staff using the internal messaging system. •
Voicemail & Integration Management:
Review and process morning voicemails and text-based communication queues received outside of business hours. •
Patient Confidentiality:
Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and protected health information (PHI). Qualifications & Skills •
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a receptionist, preferably in a medical office or high-volume call center environment. •
Technical Savvy:
Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and digital phone platforms (experience with Weave and Eclinicalworks is a major plus). •
Communication:
Exceptional verbal communication, active listening, and a professional phone etiquette. •
Multitasking:
Ability to handle multiple phone lines simultaneously while keeping a clear, organized headspace. •
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
