Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our mental health practice team! In this vital role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your expertise in medical administrative support, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and electronic health records (EHR) management will be essential to maintaining efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations with professionalism and enthusiasm Schedule appointments accurately using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Verify patient insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks to facilitate billing processes Collect and review medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Manage patient records electronically, including filing, updating EHR systems, and maintaining medical records securely Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette to address patient inquiries and coordinate care plans Assist with medical billing and coding tasks by applying CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, and Medicare guidelines as needed Experience Proven clinic or medical office experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology and health information management Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms Experience in medical billing, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification, and documentation review Knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix (preferred for dental clinics) Excellent customer service skills combined with clerical experience in a busy healthcare setting Join us to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working in a supportive environment that values your skills and dedication!
