Saturdays & Sundays, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (16 hours/week) Join Our Team at Kulana Malama Kulana Malama is a specialized pediatric skilled nursing facility providing compassionate, high-quality care to medically fragile children. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Unit Clerk to support our Nursing and Health Information teams while helping ensure accurate medical records and smooth day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with clerical, healthcare, medical office, or unit secretary experience who enjoys working in a mission-driven healthcare environment. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Health Information Associate/Coordinator, the Unit Clerk provides clerical and administrative support to the Nursing Department. Responsibilities include maintaining electronic medical records, coordinating appointments and transportation, processing resident information, answering phones, and assisting with communication between departments to support quality resident care. Essential Duties Maintain and update electronic medical records. Enter resident information into clinical software systems. Serve as the unit receptionist and answer incoming calls. Relay messages to nursing staff and other departments. Assist with resident admissions, re-admissions, and record updates. Coordinate transportation for resident appointments. Schedule physician appointments and consultations. Track certifications and required physician documentation. Monitor and maintain unit forms, supplies, and requisitions. Assist with medical record audits and quality reviews. Receive deliveries and assist with inventory management. Support communication between nursing and ancillary departments. Perform other clerical and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in documentation. Preferred Previous experience as a Unit Clerk, Medical Secretary, Medical Records Clerk, or healthcare administrative professional. Experience in pediatric, long-term care, skilled nursing, hospital, or healthcare settings. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices.
