Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where your energetic and organized approach will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate patient appointments, handle medical records, and ensure seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers and staffs. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient service while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies and health information management standards. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing processes including medical collection procedures and Medicare claims Maintain accurate medical records by reviewing documentation, updating electronic health records (EHR), and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Facilitate intake procedures for new patients, including collecting demographic data and explaining clinic policies Assist with medical coding tasks such as CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and ICD coding to support accurate billing and documentation review Support office management tasks like filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), appointment scheduling, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems. Obtain insurance pre authorization. Qualifications Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks and documentation purposes Experience in a office or healthcare setting with clinic experience is preferred but not necessary. Knowledge of health insurance processes, and health information management standards is preferred but not necessary.
