  • Acts as a healthcare access representative to patients and vendors, utilizing positive public relations skills, when scheduling patient visits or physician schedules.
Coordinates clinic services by maximizing resources to meet the demands of patients and customers. Provides phone, reception, clerical and scheduling services in outpatient clinic setting.
HIPAA Security Compliance Security Access:
High . Access to restricted or confidential patient information and must comply with the terms of company security policies as it applies to their job role. Essential Functions Coordinates on-going patient flow through the clinic process ensuring efficient and effective continuity, accurate completion of all required forms, greeting patients, verifying demographics and insurance information, and coordinating physician releases. Collecting co-payments and outstanding balances. Inform patients of financial assistance opportunities. Utilizes clinical staff to evaluate and determine priority situations. Efficiently and effectively routes and responds to incoming calls by following clinic protocol. Follows clinic procedures for the organization and management of the electronic medical records. Maximizes clinic efficiency by utilizing protocols to schedule visits, maintaining patient wait list, coordinating appointment reminders, and accurately documenting cancellations and no shows. Proactively serves as a patient advocate by utilizing courteous and professional etiquette at all times reflecting positive tone and speaking distinctly with poise, tact and assurance. Assures the conveyance of accurate and complete messages to appropriate personnel. Responsible for the development, tracking and completeness of the charge ticket process through the patient visit and at the time of scheduling. Coordinates patients/non-patient customers in the clinic. Maintains professional appearance of reception area. Demonstrates functional knowledge of third party payers. Acts as clinic resource for the maintenance and utilization of the scheduling system. Marginal Functions Work includes cross coverage in other clinic areas as team needs. Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies in various work areas. Misc. office duties (i.e. greeting patients, answering phone, copying, filing, retrieval of films/medical records, sorting/distributing mail, updating demographic & insurance information). Participates in daily bank deposits. Sorts and delivers mail. Reconciles physician resource schedules. Participates in Performance Improvement projects. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required High school diploma or equivalency. Six months experience working with public. Knowledge of Medical office practices and procedures, office equipment, medical terminology, data entry, health insurance provider's rules and regulations preferred. Six months of medical experience or completion of medical program preferred.

From $17.00 per hour
