Job Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming attitude will set the tone for a positive patient experience. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical records with precision and professionalism. Your expertise in medical administrative support and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will ensure smooth clinic operations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a caring environment while honing your skills in dental office management and health information management. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Schedule appointments accurately, coordinate patient flow, and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth Maintain meticulous medical records, review documentation for accuracy, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies Assist with billing processes including medical collection efforts, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare documentation review Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems including eClinicalWorks and other EMR systems to ensure up-to-date patient information Support clinic operations by filing documents, managing medical records, and performing office management tasks such as supply inventory and filing Skills Proven experience in dental or medical office settings with strong knowledge of dental terminology and health insurance procedures Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; adept at multi-line phone system operation Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills such as 10 key typing for data entry tasks Knowledge of medical billing practices including CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), ICD coding standards, and Medicare documentation requirements Ability to verify insurance benefits accurately and process claims efficiently while adhering to HIPAA regulations Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks Join us in delivering exceptional dental care by providing outstanding administrative support that keeps our clinic running smoothly.
