The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role involves handling patient scheduling, insurance verification, medical record management, and supporting clinical staff to ensure smooth office operations. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks is highly preferred. A strong understanding of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and medical billing processes is essential to succeed in this position. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and professionally at the front desk, managing multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette Schedule patient appointments using eClinicalWorks EHR Verify insurance coverage accurately Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks related to Medicare and other insurance providers Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, supporting clinical staff with care plan documentation review Manage patient intake procedures and assist with medical office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and document scanning Support administrative functions such as appointment reminders, patient follow-up calls, and office organization Skills Proven experience in a medical office environment or clinic setting with strong clerical skills Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems Knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10
for billing and documentation purposes Familiarity with insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and record keeping Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and basic computer skills for administrative support tasks This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where your administrative expertise directly contributes to patient care quality.
