Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
As the first and last point of contact for patients, Medical Receptionists are the face of the practice and play a critical role in shaping the patient's experience. They create a welcoming, professional, and compassionate environment while ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate patient information, and seamless communication between patients and clinical staff. Through exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality, Medical Receptionists help build patient trust, support operational excellence, and contribute to the overall success and reputation of the practice.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver a professional, welcoming patient experience from arrival through departure. Ensure provider schedules are optimized to support patient access, productivity, and operational efficiency. Facilitate timely communication and resolution of patient inquiries, requests, and concerns. Maintain accurate patient information, documentation, and records to support quality care and compliance. Verify coverage and collect patient financial responsibilities to support revenue cycle integrity. Coordinate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care. Ensure patient visits are prepared and processed efficiently, minimizing delays and disruptions. Maintain an organized, professional front office environment that reflects Dermio Dermatology's standards. Contribute to the achievement of Dermio Dermatology's mission, vision, values, and patient service goals
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and patient-focused approach Strong customer service skills with the ability to create positive patient interactions Demonstrated empathy and emotional intelligence when handling sensitive or high-stress situations Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Proficiency with computers and ability to learn and use practice management systems Consistent reliability, punctuality, and accountability Team-oriented mindset with openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement Willingness and ability to travel between office locations as needed EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in a medical, dermatology, or specialty healthcare front office setting Familiarity with medical scheduling systems and electronic health records (EHR), ModMed/EMA Experience with insurance verification and patient financial collection processes Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of dermatology services Experience handling multi-provider schedules in a high-volume clinical environment Prior exposure to patient intake, registration, and front desk operations Bilingual communication skills (a plus, depending on patient population needs), Spanish Equal Employment Opportunity, Reasonable Accommodation, and Job Duties Disclaimer The Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
